A Reminder from Jeremy Spencer

Posted 10/9/2008 12:00:00 AM
I am honoured to be a competitor in CHQR’s Talk Show Idol 2. Calgary is a wonderful city….a city that is booming with virtually infinite opportunities. However, amongst the turbulence of our busy lives and success stories, we often seem to overlook one of the most important factors that allow us to experience Calgary as we do. I am referring to the brave men and women, past and present, that fight for our freedom that we take for granted so easily. With Remembrance Day on the horizon, I encourage every Calgarian to acknowledge our brave Canadian soldiers, past and present, so that they can continue to give us the freedom we enjoy. In my opinion, instead of complaining about our government, acknowledge our veterans who fought and died so that we could enjoy a democratic nation, by simply voting in the Federal election on October 14, it is the least ...

Youth to the Left

Posted 10/9/2008 12:00:00 AM
Thanks so much for listening on Monday night; I was defiantly a new experience for me. I hope you all enjoyed my topic which was about young Voters in Canada or lack of.

So following my research on the subject I learned that most young Canadians tend to lean towards the left. And of those young Canadians say that if they had a chance to vote in the American Election that they would vote for Barack Obama;

They also believe that he is more interesting than any of the Canadian candidates and I understand that. The youth have also stated that the leader most like Barack Obama is Jack Layton but not comparable to Jack Layton?????? Someone needs to educate our youth on politics. Our conservative party is more left wing than the Democratic Party in the US. I think that Stephen Harper's views are most like that of Barack ...

Hi everyone! Thanks for the opportunity to have such a great time and experience participating in talk show idol!

Since when did Conservatives stop being Conservatives? Either in the US or in Canada those on the right are always trying to please those near the center, we always have to water down our conservative values to fit what liberals and leftists think otherwise the liberal media will spin conservative comments how they see fit. I am sick of it. Why? Because conservatism is ideas. Conservatism is elevating everyone to be their best. Liberalism is class warfare, retreat and despair. Liberals are about making rich and poor to hate each other. Liberals are about bribing the middle-class with their own money. Keep your elected representative on his/her toes. Write, email and call them to make sure they are implementing the will of Albertan's first, and Canadians second. And most of all, ...

Hi Everyone,
It has been very interesting and exciting being able to participate in Talk Show Idol 2. I think a good talk show host has to do his or her homework. Be passionate about whatever topic is being discussed and be able to relate to any caller whether the caller agrees with your opinion or not.
I hope you enjoyed my topic Monday night and found it informative and perhaps made you think. It is a difficult topic to discuss openly but I hope you appreciate the fact that a good talk show host takes risks , and is willing to hear all opinions.
I definitely will show you what I'm made of on a variety of topics if given a chance to compete in the finals. Please listen to my "alternate" ways of dealing with drug houses in my editorial. I thank everyone who takes the time to ...
