Barry Erskine
Barry Erskine has been hosting Let’s Talk Gardening for more than 25 years. He has impressive credentials in the gardening world which include being a Journeyman Gardener. He brings his wealth of gardening experience to the show every Sunday Morning. Barry is a lifetime member of the Calgary Horticultural Society with ties to many gardening circles. Barry’s notoriety is not just limited to Let’s Talk Gardening. He is an instructor of note sharing his gardening expertise as an instructor with Bow Valley College and most recently with the University of Calgary as part of its continuing education programs.
Barry was also an Aldermen for Ward 11 for 15 years serving his communities on a number of City Hall committees. His leadership was demonstrated in particular on City of Calgary environmental issues.
Barry runs his own gardening consulting firm (Brilliant Green Solutions). He is married with 2 children. |

Wade Hartwell
Wade Hartwell knows gardening.
Along with his hands on experience with Golden Acre Garden Sentres he also has an honorary Degree in Horticulture form Olds College. He is connected to many charities including QR77's Calgary Children's Foundation.
Hartwell started Golden Acre Garden Senters in 1965. The business flourished and grew to 3 garden centers (have since been sold). Wade still runs a 165 acre tree nursery south of Calgary on the Highwood River. Now semi retired he travels 35 to 40 weeks a year around the world taking in gardens every chance he gets and reporting back to Let’s Talk Gardening listeners on all his adventures.
Wade co-hosts the show with Barry Erskine and brings a wealth of gardening knowledge and a folksy approach to the weekly show (when he's not on the road). |
