36-year-old Jay Thomas Roberson has been identified as the man whose body was recovered by Lake Louise RCMP from the North Saskatchewan River on Monday. His identity was confirmed through fingerprints, although a cause of death is unexplained.
The remains were found on a sandbar in the river along Highway #93, dressed only in swiming shorts.
Roberson was a University of Michigan student, who was believed to have been staying in a tent at the Rampart Creek campground near the Columbia Icefields.
RCMP are asking for public help in discovering the circumstances surrounding his death and want to know if people talked with the victim during his stay in the Lake Louise area, of they saw anyone near a grey Chev Malibu parked along the highway.
