Alberta Health Minister Ron Liepert wouldn't say much Monday as he emerged from a swine flu meeting with the premier and chief health officer.
Liepert, who has become a lightning rod for criticism over Alberta's H1N1 immunization program, said Premier Ed Stelmach was simply looking for an update.
The health minister offered few details about why the premier cancelled a planned appearance in Calgary and ordered the meeting.
Liepert has faced heated criticism since the province was forced to suspend vaccination clinics Saturday because of a vaccine shortage.
Dr. Andre Corriveau, Alberta's chief health officer, says no one died of the swine flu on the weekend, but 24 more people were hospitalized.
So far, 14 people have died in Alberta after contracting swine flu and nearly 300 people have been hospitalized.
