The Petroleum Services Association of Canada is predicting continuing low activing in the number of wells drilled across the country.
The industry group is forecasting 8,000 wells will be drilled in 2010 - the same number as this year.
PSAC says drilling activity will plateau as the industry rides out the recession.
Initially, the group had been predicting double the number of wells - 16-thousand - to be drilled in 2009.
On a provincial basis for 2010, about 5,100 wells are forecast for Alberta
