CHQR Newsroom
11/5/2009

Premier Ed Stelmach spoke to the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association conference in Calgary Thursday, and gave them the news they wanted to hear.
The premier received a standing ovation from the majority of the provincial politicians, especially with the news that he will keep his committment to the Municipal Sustainability Fund.
He says if there are changes to the funding to help deal with the province's deficit, he will extend the length of the MSI funding contract by a year or two.
The fund is a 10-year funding pact with municipalities.
He also told the AUMA that the province is re-introducing Alberta Capital Bonds so investors can help pay for needed infrastructure.
