Council urged to consider budget changes

Just as the 2010 budget deliberations get underway, the President of the 900-member Calgary Leadership Forum is calling on City Council to reduce taxes by 2.5% and modernize the budget process.
Former Alderman Brian Lee tells QR77 news, the three-year budget outlook process fails to consider the volatility of today's economy.
And, Lee says for no "viable" reason, the city's $148-Million fiscal stabiliity reserve, created as a "rainy day fund," is not being used.
He says the "rainy day" has arrived.
