Calgary police are ready for this week's Grey Cup festivities in the city.
Inspector Blair White says planning started in September on how to keep the peace during the party-like atmosphere.
"We have mostly in the downtown it's going to be beat officers and the mountain bike team. Then the game itself up at McMahon Stadium on November 29th is going to be filled with pay-duty officers just like every other Stampeder football game."
Grey Cup festivities kick off on Wednesday with many events taking place. as many as 50,000 people are expected to attend those events in the downtown.
He says police are working with Transit security officers and Bylaw officers on a multi-pronged approach to security during Grey Cup.
