Day six has wrapped up at the trial for the Calgary couple who were charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence after their 16-month-old daughter overdosed on methadone back in 2006.
A toxicologist testified if Summer Hope had been taken to an emergency room up to four hours after ingesting the drug, her life could have been saved.
It is believed the girl's father, Jonathan, spit some methadone into a coffee cup, brought it home with him from the clinic, and left it on top of the T.V.
The crown is expected to wrap up its case against Hope and co-accused Lisa Guerin on Wednesday.
