A zookeeper at the Calgary Zoo has been suspended for failing to secure the gorilla's outdoor habitat Monday morning.
The animal -- a young male named Shana -- managed to make his way to the top of a 12-foot high outside wall after jumping from some ice that accumulated on the moat in his enclosure.
Officials say there was no danger to the public as the zoo was not yet open.
The gorilla made its way back to the enclosure without incident.
