A man convicted in Alberta of sexual interference with a child has been deported.
William Maguire, 44, pleaded guilty to the charge in 2008 in Didsbury provincial court and was sentenced to 42 months in jail. Maguire, a U.S. citizen, moved to Alberta in 2004 and was a permanent resident.
The Canadian Border Services Agency says he has now been banned from ever returning to Canada. Officials would not say where Maguire has been deported to.
