Well, as the old saying goes – when someone throws you a lemon, make lemonade.
The Stamps lost their season opener to the Montreal Alouettes last night, 40-27. Was it that bad? In a word, yes. Even worse!
However, a deeper look into the numbers gives you an indication of what an elite ballclub the Stamps are when they want to be. Consider this:
- the Stamps scored all of their points in the 2nd and 3rd Quarter – when their time of possession was just over 10 minutes (the Als had the ball for almost 20 minutes in this same period, and generated just 10 points).
- They generated 27 points pretty much without a running game; Joffrey Reynolds was given the ball 6 times in the whole game
- Henry Burris completed just over 50% of his passes
- Offensive stalwarts Nik Lewis and Brett Ralph didn’t have ...
