To be honest I was scared when the Calgary Stampeders decided to sign Dave Dickenson as thier backup quarterback to Henry Burris. Not because he is not a qualified pivot but because of his history of concussions. I like Dickenson as a person and I consider him a good friend but I was afraid for his life, his health and his future.
As this season developed I became more and more secure in the thought that the Stamps had made the right move, they had backed up starter Henry Burris with a guy that could move in if necessary but it was not going to be necessary that often. No worries.
WRONG.
Om Monday against the dreaded Edmonton Eskimos Biurris went down with a toe injury and Dickenson had to come into play much sooner than anyone had anticipated. And while he performed extremely well in the position, in fact ...
