The annual Labour Day Classic is upon us. This year's edition features a different background than previous editions. In other years, the Eskimos and Stamps have often been duelling for top spot in the West. This year, the Eskimos have had a monumental struggle in the first half, while the Stampeders are on top of the league. However, the team have put on some memorable shows in the long history of this rivalry.
Here are a few highlights, from my vantage point
The most dominating individual performance came in 1995. Jeff Garcia, thrust into starting duty because of Doug Flutie's elbow surgery, threw for over 500 yards and six touchdowns in a Stamps win over the Eskimos. Until that point, Garcia was not well known to Stampeder fans. That performance ensured his place in Stampeder fans hearts.
